Luc has been teaching Latin dances including salsa, bachata, merengue and cha cha to more than 600 students in the National Capital Region for more than 5 years. He also taught music for over 10 years. In fact, Luc’s passion for music brought him into the wonderful world of dancing.
The co-director, instructor, choreographer and founder of SalsaOlé studied Jazz at the École du Conservatoire de Musique de Hull and also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Music from The
University of Ottawa. He began working as a professional musician in 1998 and has been playing in different parts of Canada ever since.
In 2000, Luc started Ballroom, aiming to bring his knowledge of music – whether it is Latin or other – to the next level. While discovering this new art, he started to learn salsa in October 2001. He has devoted himself to this dance almost exclusively since then.
Whether on a dance floor or in a classroom, Luc always interprets his passion, music, with precision, fluidity and musicality. He is well-known for his analytical mind, his understanding of the fine mechanics behind salsa and other Latin dances and his ability to break down every movement...for the benefits and enjoyment of his students!
